Press about Beaver Island Lighthouse School

In December, Beth and I traveled to Charlevoix, MI for the graduation ceremony of the Beaver Island Lighthouse School, which serves troubled teens in northwest Michigan. We sponsor the 10-10-10 Scholarship Fund, which provides a stipend to the valedictorian. This morning, the AP released a report about the school including a nice text, photos, and a video. Taylor Fisher Speaks at the Graduation/Completion Ceremony of the Beaver Island Lighthouse School

Beth and I were honored to attend the Graduation/Completion Ceremony of the Beaver Island Lighthouse School where some students graduated with a high-school diploma and others completed YouthBuild (a work-experience program). Other students completed the school's residential program without either of these other distinctions. At the ceremony, Beth and I presented the first 10-10-10 Scholarship Fund Award and a set of books from the Great Books Foundation. The award and books went to the Valedictorian, Katie Daughtery, who will be attending Northwestern Michigan College in January, 2011.
