Adding Maps to Pathaway

Once I understood the concept behind map creation for Treo and
Pathaway it was easy. I was able to load scanned paper maps and
translated electronic maps. The electronic maps started as NOAA maps.
I loaded them so that MacENC could read them and then exported them as
JPEG. That's a bit of a cheat. MacENC is all the chart software most
would need onboard, but my Mac is not portable.

Now the fun really began. Each map had to have latitude and longitude information at two or more places. Pathaway calls this calibration. I used Google to find the lat-long of small towns along major highways, but I was not able to use this information to create what was needed in Pathaway. Stay tuned.
